You do not need to dress like you are heading to a costume party to go to a rodeo. The best rodeo gear is simple: comfortable, practical and suited to dust, grass, grandstands and a long day on your feet.

Start with jeans
A solid pair of jeans is hard to beat. Straight or relaxed fits work well because you can move in them and they suit boots. Dark denim looks a little cleaner; worn denim looks right at home. Either way, comfort matters more than chasing a trend.
Wear proper footwear
Cowboy boots are the obvious choice, but sturdy work boots are completely fine. Avoid shoes you would hate to get dusty, muddy or stepped on in a crowd. Rodeo grounds are rarely polished surfaces.
Keep the shirt easy

What about a cowboy hat?
